This one bedroom, two bath A-frame sleeps four near Electra Lake, standing among the pines in the forests north of Durango.
“It really looks like it’s floating,” said owner Scott Taylor about the cabin’s rear deck that cantilevers over a ravine. “It looks like a tree house and it feels like that while your there.”
There is a washer and dryer, new kitchen and appliances and radiant slab heat. Taylor said he and his son remodeled the cabin, inside out.
“We did it together,” Taylor said. “The cabinets, the furniture- everything. It was a complete re-do.”
Guests can wander into the woods from the front door, and nearby adventures await, like skiing Purgatory, mountain biking Hermosa Creek, hiking Castle Rock or rock climbing in Cascade Canyon, for starters. Cast a fly for rainbow or brown trout or paddle around inlets and islands on the 10-mile private lake. Afterwards, warm up to the wood burning fireplace, with extra wood provided.
