Engineer Mountain is a bulking double-peaked, 12,968 feet-tall member of the San Juan mountain range in Southwest Colorado. An iconic landmark for area residents, the peak features almost 1,500 feet of vertical prominence and can be accessed easily from the top of Coal Bank Pass on Highway 550 between Durango and Silverton. During the fall season of 2017, a team of web developers and designers from Durango set out to summit Engineer for a day of teambuilding.
The photos above showcase some of the wonderful views and fun class-3 scrambling the team experienced during a crisp bluebird day on the mountain. The summit of Engineer rewarded the team with a view south all the way into Northern New Mexico, as well as a great vantage point to see numerous 14ers in both the Needles sub-range to the east and the Wilson group to the west.
